COMPANY HISTORY

The present distribution business started life in 1969 as a small division of "Tekdata Ltd". The main group manufactured bespoke cable harnesses for the then mainframe computer industry and grew into a major supplier for OEM's as the PC was born.

The distribution business developed at the same time supplying PC components' to the existing customers alongside the incumbent cable harness'.

In 2004 the management decided that the two divisions would develop more efficiently as separate entities and "de-merged" them into two separate companies, Tekdata Distribution being one of them.

The company, people, systems, stock and customers moved into brand new premises in June 2004 and has seen continuous growth since then.

In November 2007 the business was acquired by Micro-P, themselves, part of the DCC PLC group. This acquisition saw Tekdata Distribution become the "IT Security Centre of Excellence" for the group and it continues to develop even more rapidly as part of a large multinational organisation.

Today Tekdata Distribution is one of the UK's most experienced and most innovative IT distributor. We stock a wide range of IT equipment including Internet Security, Storage, Peripherals and access control products. We are now Europe's biggest and longest serving SonicWALL distributor, has Europe's largest dedicated SonicWALL Sales team, and is also the biggest distributor in the UK of Cherry Peripherals. As well as being the 1st DBAM UK Distributor.
