Aventail Secure Desktop
Aventail® Secure Desktop™ delivers the utmost data protection for unmanaged workstations—such as airport kiosks or Internet café PCs. Aventail Secure Desktop incorporates and integrates technology from Symantec (Sygate) to create best-of-breed security for your remote session —a “virtual” Windows® session that runs on top of the actual desktop. A mobile user can browse the Internet, check e-mail, and work with personal files using client/server applications, but once the session is over, all sensitive data is automatically and thoroughly removed from the unmanaged workstation.

Aventail Secure Mobile Access
In today’s fast-paced business environment, getting information quickly—whenever and wherever you are—is critical for productivity. The growing number of mobile devices and people who want to check e-mail or access client/server applications from smartphones or PDAs are increasing the need for secure mobile access. One in five workers today use mobile applications like email or calendaring, and the trend of mobile access is growing. In fact, more corporations are employing purpose-built devices to decrease operational costs, speed product fulfillment, and perform other time-critical business operations.
While many vendors offer mobile access solutions, the majority of those available either restrict what resources users can access or result in administrative complexity for the organization. Internet Protocol security (IPSec) VPNs, for example, require clients to be installed on each device used for accessing the network. Mobile gateways, on the other hand, lack a unified policy model, which means that access control must be managed differently for every device type and application. And both of these solutions are expensive and difficult to manage.
But now, there’s a better option. Aventail® SSL VPNs, which were designed with teleworkers and other remote users in mind, provide secure access to Web, client/server, and file share resources from virtually any location. Aventail was the first to provide cross-platform support for access from unmanaged end points, including home PCs, Internet kiosks, and PDAs, and has extended its support for mobile devices. Figure

Aventail Spike License Pack
Many organisations have learned that they need to proactively prepare their networks for potential business disruptions. But proper planning for disaster recovery is not just limited to catastrophic events like hurricanes or pandemics. A power outage, a transit strike or even a winter storm can also disrupt business, unless mission-critical members of the workforce can carry on remotely. In addition to all these scenarios, even anticipated seasonal business cycles can create sharp spikes in demand for secure remote access to important resources.
SonicWALL® offers the definitive disaster recovery (DR) solution for instantly increasing capacity for secure remote access. The SonicWALL Aventail® Spike License Pack (Temporary Capacity Upgrade) is an add-on license that allows enterprise-class and distributed network administrators to immediately increase their remote user count in the event of a disaster or other disruption, enabling seamless business continuity. This works like an insurance policy toward any future planned or unplanned event when remote access traffic threatens to spike from current user counts to hundreds or even thousands of additional users. Building on SonicWALL Aventail’s E-Class market-leading reputation for customer support and service, the SonicWALL Aventail® Spike License Pack also includes a SonicWALL Support contract, providing global 24 x 7 customer service and support for the duration of the spike period. The Spike License Pack is available for sudden increases of up to 250 users on the SonicWALL Aventail EX-1600, and up to the appliance maximum 2000-user count on the SonicWALL Aventail EX-2500.
