The SonicWALL® Continuous Data Protection (CDP) 5040B is designed for small and medium sized organisations demanding high performance and capacity. The CDP 5040B offers automatic disk-based backup and recovery for multiple workstations and server applications, usable capacity of up to 10 TB (at standard 2:1 compression ratios), flexible disaster recovery options, RAID protection, and replaceable drives. Powerful administrative policy streamlines backup operations and manages information assets more efficiently and intelligently.

High capacity - With a usable capacity of up to 10 TB (at standard 2:1 compression ratios), the CDP 5040B is ideal for small- to medium-size organisations.
Unprecedented scalability - The CDP 5040B flexibly accommodates CDP environments ranging from a single PC to large mixed-platform Windows®, Apple® or Linux® server farms. It also supports most popular business and client applications, including Microsoft® SQL, Exchange and SharePoint servers, System State, Active Directory and Outlook.
Enforced backup - Administrative-level policy-enforced control is applied to ensure user data residing on laptops and desktops is backed up continuously or on a schedule. Unlike many other traditional backup products, no user intervention or manual backup tasks are required.
Fast and easy deployment - The CDP integrated software, hardware and storage gives users an unsurpassed out-of-the-box experience. Pre-configured and tested, the CDP Series can go from box to backup in less than 30 minutes, enhancing productivity and return on investment. With agent software auto-discovery capabilities, the agent can locate and selectively connect to any available CDP device on the same network and backup can occur instantly.

Granular backup control rules - Hierarchically executed backup rules enable a sustainable data reduction strategy that intelligently identifies, captures and preserves pertinent business information, optimises storage and speeds backup while eliminating the costly backup and storage of irrelevant or outdated data.
Advanced fileset backup methodology - Combined with data de-duplication and advanced granular versioning and trimming features, CDP 6.0 efficiently captures, catalogues and preserves each backup in chronological versions while excluding duplicate data. This eliminates the inefficiencies experienced by the traditional method of excessively backing up and storing recurring incremental and daily full backup files that overtax secondary storage and result in data loss when historical backup points are rebuilt.
